F*CK! I’M 50 started with a pretty simple question: where the bloody hell did the last 20 years go?
One minute you’re working, raising kids and dealing with the everyday stuff. The next, you wake up and realise—fuck, I’m 50.
I’m Paul Burfitt. I’ve got a wonderful family, a beautiful wife and plenty to be grateful for. From the outside, things probably look pretty good. But life hasn’t been without a few hurdles—and this is a strange stage to find yourself in.
The kids hardly need us anymore. Our parents need us more than ever. And plenty of us are quietly wondering what the fuck is going on and what comes next.
So, in my own inimitable fashion, I decided to start a show.

Have you ever rolled through life, day after day, going through the mundane?
Get up, eat some food, drink a coffee, go to work, bash your head against a brick wall, come home, clean the house, eat some dinner and go to bed.
Then you wake up one day and realise—fuck, I’m 50.
Where the bloody hell did the last 20 years go?
I’m Paul, and I’m proud to say I’m in my 50s. I’ve got a wonderful family, a beautiful wife and a nice house. From the outside, it probably looks like everything is going along pretty well.
But I’ve got to tell you, there have been a few hurdles along the way—and it isn’t all rosy.
It’s a pretty weird time. My kids hardly need me anymore, and my parents need me more than ever.
This isn’t an isolated case. I’ve been talking to friends, colleagues and people I know around the country—and around the world, actually. We’re all at that same sort of stage in our lives, wondering what the fuck is going on and what comes next.
So, in my inimitable fashion, I thought I’d start a show. A podcast, if you will.
Like every other person out there, I thought I might as well get my story out and see where it leads.
I’ll probably do something on YouTube. I’ll probably do some audio-only episodes, like this one. And I want to see whether you’d like to come along for the ride.
